Job Description & Qualifications

Job Summary

Responsible for supporting, designing, developing (coding), testing, and debugging applications. Provide Ready-to-Serve and development support. Maintain, enhance and provide solutions for software applications.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Develops (code), implements and maintains tools/applications.

  • Provides and documents technical design and specifications to meet business and functional requirements under the direction of a manager or department developer.

  • Builds and maintains templates, rules, style sheets, workflows, data extractions and imports, interfaces, and object models.

  • Performs unit testing prior to moving code/configuration to the QA process and supports QA activities as needed.

  • Assists in the development and definition of test plans and scripts for performance, regression and user acceptance testing.

Nature and Scope

  • Works in compliance with established procedures and/or protocols. Identifies and resolves readily identifiable, clearly defined problems. Demonstrates skill in data analysis and techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in routine research/data.

  • Nature of work requires general supervision; exercises judgment. May be paired with a mentor. Work typically involves regular process checks or review of output by a coworker and/or supervisor.

  • May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support personnel.

Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Certification may be required in some areas. Generally 0-2 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 0-1 year of experience in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications & Job Specific Details

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of Java Development and/or Oracle DB preferred.

  • Knowledge of Scrum project management principles preferred.

  • Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.

  • Knowledge of Selenium or similar Test Automation Suite preferred.

  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Bash, Python) preferred.

  • Recent grads welcome to apply.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Key Projects will include work with the QA team in E- Business to define and document our new test automation suite. The new system will be implemented using Selenium test automation scripting and will allow us to implement a Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment process for the delivery of changes for our business customers.

  • Other projects will include Interface with Development team to facilitate the creation of a new development process to include the development of unit test cases for integration to the Selenium QA process specified above.

  • Key Deliverables will include defining and assisting in the development of a repeatable QA testing environment for CI/CD.
