Job Description & Qualifications
Responsible for the system administration of the Workday platform. Maintain system configuration, data audits and releases of new functionality for Workday. Execute strategy, processes and maintenance for Workday HRIS applications and provide ongoing support and testing for business process configurations and integrations between Workday and other applications. Manage key elements of Workday implementation, troubleshooting and resolving issues related to integrations, EIB’s, performance, QA, capacity management or complex environment configurations. Work with project teams while supporting Workday tenants. Evaluate and provide recommendations for utilization of new features in Workday application updates.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
Maintains system integrity, defines and enforces information security standards across the Workday platform.
Manages release control and performs migrations from sandbox through production environment for integrations and updates.
Provides business process oversight to functional configurators and configure business processes.
Supports platform upgrades and assists with defining and supporting HRIT technical processes across internal HDS IT resources, and external resources.
Facilitates complex Workday systems testing, identifies discrepancies and formulates remediation plan(s).
Partners with HR and technology teams to lead Workday system-related projects, including system releases/upgrades, enhancement packages, and process redesign. Maintains all SOX and Internal Audit Controls to ensure overall compliance; participate in internal audit reviews and provides requested information and or remediation.
Manages Workday tenant configuration and security, as well as system process flow maps. Serves as primary security administrator.
Oversees the cross-functional coordination of release management activities. Provides input in creating and establishing release management processes, including developing release management risk and mitigation strategies.
Nature and Scope
Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems. Makes decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results.
Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to the expected results. Determines and develops an approach to solutions. Receives technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.
May oversee the completion of projects and assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc. Contributes to employees' professional development but does not have hiring or firing authority.
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Education and Experience
- Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 5-8 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications & Job Specific Details
Bachelor's degree in information technology, information systems or related field preferred.
3+ years of Workday experience. Workday certifications preferred.
2+ years’ experience as a Workday HCM administrator with direct responsibilities in onboarding, recruiting, compensation, payroll, benefits, performance, talent, and other modules.
Kronos and/or time and attendance experience preferred.
